Dave Semple
Dave was born in Montreal and raised in Noranda, Quebec. He graduated from Canterbury High School of the Performing Arts in Ottawa before attending the University of Windsor where he received his BFA in Theatre with a minor in English Literature and Creative Writing. In 1993 he earned his B.Ed. from Ottawa University and began his thirty-year career as a Drama and English teacher with Thames Valley Board of Education until his retirement in 2022.
As a writer, he has self-published two novels (“Intersection”, “Out of the Pitch”), four poetry anthologies (“At One, A Life’s Sentence”, “Eye Yam Know Won”, “Play With Dragons”, Not Another F#ckin’Book of… Poetry”), one poetic novella (“Just He, His Breath, and the Sea”) and two books of “Words of Wisdom-Sunrise and Sunset” containing inspirational quotations of life lessons learned. His poetry is raw, blunt, and honest. He loves performing readings of his work as an accomplished storyteller.
For Dave, story is everything.
Dave is also a singer/songwriter with five albums of original music on Spotify.
