James Paul
James Paul is the son of an English teacher. He learned early how to write well and how to take feedback. That foundation turned into a lasting passion for writing and editing.
James spent 14 years as an Editor at CNW/Cision, Canada’s largest newswire service, where he helped clients polish their communications, catching errors before they became headlines. He loved calling a client to say, “I caught this before it went out,” and then hearing the relief in their voice, which sometimes included profanity-laced appreciation.
He then joined GoodLife Fitness, where he wrote and edited blogs, articles, and internal messages. The work was rewarding, but he wanted to help more people with their content, so he launched jpwritely.
As a freelance writer and editor, James supports the content needs of his clients across various industries. This includes websites, blogs, résumés, books, applications, and news releases, among other types of content.
James’ experience has taught him to understand that deadlines are crucial and communication must be precise. As a result, he strives to keep his work flexible, responsive, and tailored to each client’s needs.
James loves helping people express themselves with clarity and confidence, but mostly, without the typos!
